St. Agnes Parish Council is a group of 8 to 12 elected, or selected, members of St. Agnes Church who advise and assist the Priest with the planning, developing and improving the Church’s programs and services as outlined in the Church’s mission. A diversity of Council membership is important to provide a good representation of the Church Community. Therefore, Parishioners from various backgrounds with a range of expertise, talents and experience are asked by our Pastor to serve on Parish Council. Positions are reserved for a representative from the Finance Council, Catholic Women’s League, neighbourhood schools, and the Youth ministry to ensure these Ministries are involved in the decision making processes.
Parish Council encourages parishioner involvement, supports the work of active groups in the church community, develops policies and recommends projects that will help the parish grow and evolve. Beginning with opening prayer, the meetings continue with discussion to arrive at decisions on matters brought before them. Council meets approximately 8 times each year; meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month in the Mary Room. Members of the congregation are welcome to attend. If you have any suggestions or concerns, feel free to speak with one of the members below or contact the Parish Office at (807) 475-7489.
